Leyla Brain Retractor – Ball and Socket Joint (BLR-287)
Ball and socket joint for fixation of the B Martin Leyla brain retractor system to the operating table rail. Provides multi-directional angular freedom during setup, then locks rigidly to anchor the entire retractor assembly securely to the table.
The BLR-287 Ball and Socket Joint is the primary table-interface component of the Leyla brain retractor system. It clamps onto the operating table side rail and provides a ball-and-socket connection point for the holding rod, allowing the rod — and the entire retractor assembly above it — to be positioned at any angle relative to the table before being locked firmly in place.
The multi-directional freedom of the ball and socket joint is essential for positioning the retractor system precisely over the craniotomy site regardless of the patient’s head position on the Mayfield clamp. Once the required position and angle are established, a single locking action secures the joint rigidly for the duration of the procedure. Manufactured from surgical-grade stainless steel with CNC machining.
