Leyla Brain Retractor – Holding Rod (BLR-288)
Holding rod for the B Martin Leyla brain retractor system. Forms the vertical support column between the ball and socket table joint (BLR-287) and the coupling head (BLR-289), carrying the entire flexible arm and spatula assembly over the operative field.
The BLR-288 Holding Rod is the structural spine of the Leyla brain retractor system, linking the table-mounted ball and socket joint below to the coupling head above. Its angled geometry allows the rod to clear the operating table side rail and reach over the patient’s head to position the coupling head directly above the craniotomy. The rod is rigid and dimensionally stable, transmitting no vibration or flex to the retractor arms and spatulas during surgery.
The holding rod attaches to the BLR-287 ball and socket joint, which allows the angle to be adjusted before locking. The top end accepts the BLR-289 or BLR-290 coupling head. CNC-machined from surgical stainless steel.
Core structural component for all Leyla brain retractor configurations. Sold individually as a replacement or spare.
