The BM-HR-106 Paediatric Skull Pins are designed specifically for use in children, where the thinner and more compliant cranial cortex requires a pin with a different tip geometry and lower recommended insertion force compared to adult pins. Using adult pins in paediatric patients risks over-penetration of the inner cortical table, which can cause intracranial injury. The BM-HR-106 pins are ground to a geometry that optimises grip at the reduced penetration depth appropriate for paediatric skulls. Supplied in packs of 3, the paediatric pins are fully compatible with the BM-HR-104 skull clamp pin holders and follow the same reuse protocol as the adult pins — clean, inspect, and resterilise after each use.
