Mayfield Skull Clamp – 3-Point Fixation (BM-HR-104)
Mayfield skull clamp with 3-point fixation for the B Martin head rest system. Provides absolute rigid skull immobilisation during neurosurgical procedures. Accepts adult (BM-HR-105) and paediatric (BM-HR-106) skull pins and connects to the base unit via BM-HR-102 or BM-HR-103 swivel adapters.
The BM-HR-104 Skull Clamp is the core fixation component of the B Martin Mayfield Head Rest System. Using 3-point pin fixation — two pins on one side and one opposing pin on the other — it achieves absolute rigid immobilisation of the skull, eliminating any micro-movement that could compromise the precision of neurosurgical procedures performed under magnification or with neuronavigation guidance. The clamp is designed with an arc-shaped frame that provides 360-degree access to the cranium once fixed, allowing the surgeon to work from any direction without obstruction from the clamp body. The tension mechanism controls pin insertion force, and the clamp accepts both adult skull pins (BM-HR-105) and paediatric pins (BM-HR-106) to accommodate the full range of patient ages. It connects to the head rest assembly via the standard swivel adapter interface.

All craniotomy procedures requiring rigid skull fixation: supratentorial and infratentorial craniotomy, epilepsy surgery, tumour resection, AVM surgery, deep brain stimulation (DBS), and any procedure using intraoperative neuronavigation or microscopy where head movement would be unacceptable.
