The BLR-293 Support for Round Shaft Brain Spatula is the alternative terminal fitting for the Leyla flexible arm when round-shaft spatulas are required instead of flat-shaft spatulas. Round-shaft spatulas are preferred in some neurosurgical approaches — particularly deep corridor surgery — where the round shaft provides a more secure connection and the spatula can be rotated about its axis to fine-tune the retraction angle after placement.
The BLR-293 attaches to the end of any Leyla flexible arm and holds the round-shaft spatula firmly without rotation until deliberately released. It is interchangeable with the BLR-292 flat spatula support, allowing the surgeon to choose the spatula type best suited to each arm and approach. Sold individually.
