Mayfield Head Rest System – Base Unit (BM-HR-101)

The BM-HR-101 Base Unit is the primary table-interface component of the B Martin Mayfield Head Rest System. It clamps securely to the side rail of any standard operating table, providing a stable, vibration-free mounting point for the entire head positioning assembly above it. The base unit is compatible with all standard operating table rail profiles, making it immediately usable across a mixed-table theatre environment without adapters or modifications. Manufactured using CNC machining and controlled hardening, the base unit delivers the structural rigidity required for neurosurgical procedures where any head movement could compromise patient safety or operative precision. The locking mechanism allows quick height and position adjustment before securing the assembly firmly for the duration of the procedure. It is the first component installed when setting up the Mayfield head rest system and forms the foundation to which the BM-HR-102 or BM-HR-103 swivel adapter is attached.

Neurosurgical procedures requiring stable 3-point skull fixation: craniotomy, posterior fossa surgery, spinal decompression in the sitting or prone position, and any operation where the head must be rigidly fixed relative to the operating table.
