Iris Scissors B-10 to B-13 – Fine Dissection Scissors
Iris Scissors are the most widely used fine-dissection scissors in surgery — compact, sharp-pointed, and precisely balanced for delicate cutting in ophthalmic, dermatological, plastic, and micro-surgical procedures. B Martin supplies the Iris Scissor in four standard variants (B-10 to B-13), covering 10 cm and 11.5 cm lengths in both straight and curved tip configurations.
Originally designed for ophthalmic surgery, the Iris Scissor has become a universal fine-cutting tool used on almost every surgical tray. The short sharp blades allow very precise incision and trimming of delicate tissue, sutures, and fine membranes. Each variant has its own preferred uses: straight tips for controlled direct cuts and suture trimming, curved tips for working around anatomical curves and separating tissue planes without pressing on structures beneath. All four sizes are manufactured from surgical-grade stainless steel with precision-ground cutting edges and smooth finger-ring action, and are fully autoclavable.
Applications & Clinical Uses
Iris scissors are used throughout ophthalmology (conjunctival, lid, and anterior-segment work), in dermatology (biopsy trimming, fine excision), in plastic and reconstructive surgery (flap shaping, fine suture handling), in ENT and oral surgery for delicate mucosal work, and in microsurgery and laboratory dissection.
