BP Handle B-3 – Scalpel Handle No. 4

The B-3 is manufactured from surgical-grade stainless steel and finished to a satin polish for clean, non-reflective appearance in the surgical field. The flat body is longer and broader than the No. 3, with vertical serrations running along the grip panel that give the surgeon positive feedback and prevent slippage during firm cutting strokes. The blade-fitting slot is sized for the #20-series of surgical blades and accepts #20, #21, #22, #23, #24, #25 and #36, covering the full range of large blades used for skin incision, fascia division, and deep soft-tissue work. Every handle is individually inspected, laser-marked, and passivated. As a reusable instrument the No. 4 is fully autoclavable and retains its blade-retention force across a long service life.

Applications & Clinical Uses

BP Handle No. 4 is the standard handle for large skin and soft-tissue incisions: abdominal and thoracic entry in general surgery, caesarean section in obstetrics, arthrotomy and large-joint approaches in orthopaedics, limb surgery in veterinary practice, and any procedure where a #20, #22 or #23 blade is required. It belongs on every major-surgery OT tray.
