Operating Scissors B-56 to B-59 – Curved Blunt/Blunt

Curved blunt/blunt operating scissors combine the ergonomic advantage of a curved blade with the maximum safety of two rounded tips. They are used for blunt dissection by spreading action — inserting the closed blades into a tissue plane and opening them to separate tissue without cutting. The curved geometry improves access to deep or awkward operative fields. The B Martin B-56 to B-59 are available in four lengths — 14 cm, 15.5 cm, 17 cm, and 19 cm — to suit the full range of patient sizes and procedure depths. All are manufactured in surgical-grade stainless steel with a satin finish and individually inspected.

Applications & Clinical Uses

Used in paediatric surgery, bowel surgery, deep pelvic dissection, and any operative field where a curved scissors is needed but sharp tips would increase risk. Also used for suture and drain cutting in deep wounds and for blunt tissue-plane development in sensitive areas.
