Mayo-Stille Scissors (B-70 to B-75)

Mayo-Stille scissors in straight and curved patterns, 3 sizes each (14 cm, 17 cm, 21 cm). Combines the robust Mayo design with the Stille blade geometry for precision heavy-tissue dissection in general, orthopaedic, and thoracic surgery.

The Mayo-Stille scissors (B-70 to B-75) incorporate the characteristic heavy blade mass of the Mayo design with the refined cutting geometry of the Stille pattern. This results in an instrument that is both robust enough for cutting through dense fascia and ligamentous tissue, and precise enough for controlled blunt and sharp dissection in adjacent tissue planes. The straight pattern (B-70 to B-72) provides direct access in open fields, while the curved pattern (B-73 to B-75) offers improved manoeuvrability around bony prominences, vessels, and organ surfaces. Three sizes in each pattern cover the full range from short-access to deeper operative fields. Manufactured from high-grade surgical stainless steel with a precision box joint, these scissors deliver consistent performance across their service life.

Applications & Clinical Uses

Orthopaedic, general, and thoracic surgery. Cutting through heavy fascia, ligaments, and periosteal layers. The curved pattern is preferred for dissection around bony prominences and vessels where straight scissors would restrict visibility.
