The B Martin BP Handle B-8 is the Bayonet No. 3 scalpel handle — a specially angled handle designed for deep, narrow surgical corridors where a straight handle would obstruct visibility. The bayonet shape offsets the blade from the line of sight, making it ideal for neurosurgery, deep ENT work, and any approach through a long narrow channel.
The B-8 features a knurled cylindrical grip in the shaft (for firm pen-grip control) and a distinctive bayonet bend that drops the blade end out of the surgeon’s line of sight. This is critical in microscope-assisted neurosurgery, in deep transnasal and transsphenoidal approaches, and in posterior ear and middle-ear surgery. The blade fitting is the standard No. 3 slip-lock, so the handle accepts all #10-series blades — with #11 and #15 being the most common choices for this pattern. Made from surgical-grade stainless steel, satin-finished, fully autoclavable, and built for long reusable service in demanding procedures.
